Moncton — 15-year-old youth charged in connection with homicide investigation

A 15-year-old youth has been charged in connection with a homicide investigation led by the New Brunswick RCMP's Major Crime Unit in Moncton, N.B. On February 5, 2024, at approximately 9:20 p.m., members of the Codiac Regional RCMP responded to a report of a shot fired inside a residence on Sands Drive. When police arrived at the scene, they located a 16-year-old youth inside of the residence who was suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to hospital with what were believed to be serious, life-threatening injuries.

On March 22, 2024, at approximately 11:20 p.m., members of the St. Stephen RCMP detachment responded to a report of a single-vehicle crash on Highway 774 in Wilsons Beach on Campobello Island. The driver of the vehicle was transported to hospital with serious injuries. A 17-year-old passenger, and only other occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene as a result of his injuries. The cause of the crash remains under investigation. Tags:
